Hmm. It's 1a and I'm not exactly sleepy tired. More cuddly tired. But it's 8°F out and the last bus was a while ago. So, hello LiveJournal!
Shouldn't post too much though. I was taking out the Christmas tree earlier and slipped on the backyard stairs. Whacked my head on a chair (yeah seriously) pretty bad. It hurt, doesn't as much now. But I'm grumpy about it. And slightly sedated from some mild pain killers and two beers. Also too lazy to get up and brush my teeth. But that's okay because I have a mint on my nightstand. And one for the morning. And really, does my cat even care?
Sometimes I read reddit way too much. To my own detriment.
I kinda enjoy my winter routine sometimes. Listen to music and bus to work. Work. Listen to DemocracyNow! and bus to the gym. Swim. Sit in a steamroom while outside is freezing. Finish the DN broadcast on the bus ride home. Buy a tall beer at the liquor store. Order delivery / get takeout / make food. Putz around. Sleep. Repeat. The further away from the solstice it is, the nicer the mornings are too. My bed gets plenty of morning light and I rarely need an alarm clock. It's just there for me to ambitiously challenge myself. And play music.
Side note - I own some strange technology. My alarm clock is a Roku Soundbridge R1000. It can play internet radio stations, mp3s from my network, and normal radio things. And I can control it from my phone or laptop. Wherever I am. My phone is also strange. A Nokia N900. That's my linux rant/rave for the night.
