the day's haul
I had library books due today so my Mom and I went down to the civic center. And then, this past Sunday, we'd found out the church is giving away gently used hymnals. So we had to go to church (which is in the center of the city we live next to) so of course we also had to go to the library over there!
From the local library:
The Diamond Secret by Suzanne Weyn (part of the Once Upon a Time series! Yay!)
A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson (2 of her books have almost identical premises. I didn't care which one I found)
The Bridal Quest by Candace Camp (book 2 in her Matchmakers series. I've read 1 & 3. This is probably the least interesting-sounding.)
Bought at the local library bookstore:
Classic Stories I by Ray Bradbury (why does no one have "Something Wicked..."? WHY?)
The Hidden Heart by Candace Camp (I keep finding books by her at the bookstore. How can I pass up buying them?)
From the other library:
A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn (one of those books I had on my list but had no memory of why I wanted to read it)
Strange Itineraries by Tim Powers (he was one of my teachers but I really got it because some of the stories are co-written by my favorite teacher)
And then of course my Mom checked out books I'll want to read. I'd better get to work! :)
