Reed Switch

I really need to get my reed switch replaced on my PowerBook as it will randomly sleep thinking the lid has closed. It had gone away for a couple of month, but now it's back this morning of course as I'm trying to get some résumés sent out. I'd found mention of a way to override the switch when it was happening before and now I can't find it. Anyone have any idea on how to temporarily disable the switch until I can get it fixed for good?

EDIT:
I'm trying my bluetooth mouse to see if that keeps it from sleeping and if that doesn't work I'm going to try plugging in my VGA adapter.
