Opening night was last Thursday, 11 April at the Shubert Theatre! Alright, I'm late... been caught up with something called Life.

Asides, there's rave reviews fucking left and right (okay, some people just like to be dicks for the sake of being dicks but their opinions technically don't matter). At the moment, what can be more Totally Awesome?

In case it isn't immediately obvious for some, yes, this is THE Matilda, Roald Dahl's Matilda - in other words, one of the most fantastic, creepy, abusive children's books ever invented and now it's one of the best musicals ever being performed.

Revolting children...
Living in revolting times...
We sing revolting songs
Using revolting rhymes.

It's been firing up a storm in Stratford's Royal Shakespeare Company and in London's West End since 2010 and now it's doing the same on Broadway! Also since it's doing so well, it's bound to become an international musical. Oh yes, and it's NOT Americanised! They were seriously considering it though-

-in the same way Steven Spielberg wanted to make an animated Harry Potter set in an American school. It would have been a fucking disaster if that were the case so it's too good to be true they didn't go down that route. In truth, I can't see why everything has to be Americanised as if America is the centre of Neverland.

There was a decision about whether it should be English or American, and I think it would sustain itself perfectly well everyone did American accents, there’s nothing inherently parochial about the story. However, there is an English-ness to it that is best served by staying English, so that decision was made.

You've got 'at fuckin' right.

If it ever gets the chance to perform at the Tonys (if not this year then hopefully next year) the ceremoony will Fucking Explode with caffeinated 10-year-olds setting the stage on fire, ''The Bitch of Living/Totally Fucked'' style (only more kid friendly)!

While I can't actually see the show in New York right now - or ever (dammit) - I've just recently become a fan admiring observer of the show. It's immensely difficult not to appreciate something that looks this freaking marvelous and mind blowing incredible. Can we just take a moment to admire how outstanding the whole product is from the sets to the singing dancing munchkins ridiculously young cast to the addicting soundtrack?

Why the fuck am I ranting nonsense? Just see for yourselves, you won't regret taking these few moments from your boring daily lives since if only reality were a little more like theatre:

And some highlights from the London cast just because:

And this here is precisely the best song since Spring Awakening's ''The Bitch of Living'' and ''Totally Fucked'' (turn up the volume all the way, folks):

So wot the hell are ye doin' sittin' are yer arses for? Get a freakin' ticket while it's still piping hot!

The show won't disappoint.

Rejoice, my theatergoing comrades. The children’s revolution has arrived on these shores, and it is even more glorious than we were promised. Rush now, barricade stormers of culture, to the Shubert Theater, and join the insurrection against tyranny, television, illiteracy, unjust punishment and impoverished imaginations, led by a 5-year-old La Pasionaria with a poker face and an off-the-charts I.Q.

Even Snape is happy about that.
