Busy weekend

Its been a busy long weekend so far, but a productive one. We had a nice Thanksgiving with friends. Makes the holidays away from family easier when you have friends to celebrate with! Yesterday, we took advantage of the nice weather to clean up the leaves in our yard. Since our backyard backs to woods, we get LOTS of leaves everywhere - even in the front yard. We get some pretty good winds hitting the back of our house, which sends leaves up OVER our house and into the front yard and gutters. Took a couple hours to get the leaves taken care of. Then we strung up the icicle lights along our roof lines. This morning, we finished the outside lights (lighted garland around the porch posts and net lights on the bushes). This afternoon, I got my hair done. I got the color touched up and my hair trimmed differently to give it more volume and accentute what little natural wave I have. Tomorrow will be church and going to BJs for misc stuff we need and for some Christmas shopping. We're actually done shopping for the boys, but we still have our nieces and nephews to buy for. I think I can get everything for them between BJs and Wal Mart. So it should be pretty easy! I've also started making our Christmas cards and have been making some hand-stamped Christmas ornaments. They have turned out really cute!

Derek also ran his first 5K on Thursday morning. It was quite cold, so the boys and I didn't go to watch. They would have been miserable. It was quite a packed race. The time chips weren't working, so Derek doesn't have an official time, but according to his stop watch, it took him just over 31 minutes. He can usually do that distance in just over 29 minutes, but it was a harder course than our neighborhood (more hills and turns), and it was pretty packed. I think he's happy with his time. I'm proud of him for running in it and doing well.
