First reaction: HOLY SHIT!!!
This was my first janet concert, and I am so glad that it was. She was simply amazing. I have seen the other shows on dvd and they were stunning, but she really laid the smack down this time!!! She came out the gate with an intense amount of energy and kept it up the whole time. The dancers were tight, the costumes were on point... I could not have been more satisfied.
The one thing that struck me about seeing her live was what everyone has been saying about her weight. I had amazing floor seats (right in front of the catwalk) so I was able to get a good look at her and the first thing that I said to myself is "damn, you know she is black!!!" She had the hips, the thighs, and the ass of a black woman. Sounds silly, but when you think about it, that is definately the reason why she may come across a little more plump at times. The right outfit can accentuate all your...."Ethnicities". So I say work it ms j!!! I mean besides, even if she may seem a little thick, there is no mistaking that she is healthy, especially after seeing her own every inch of the stage for 2 hours...
Favorite part of the show: when she did "I get lonely" and everyone in the audience where i was sitting did the snaps in the choreography right in time with the dancers....and I mean right in time. A snap up, a snap to the left, a snap to the right...all in time with the choreography. Oh!! and when she did "discipline" and you read the lips of the guy she picked saying "I want this, I want this". Again she raised the s+m bar... All I have to say is simulated 69ing one second and then riding the same man a few seconds later...WORK!! its funny cause she seems to pick the gay guys to come on stage... She should get a free toatster for turnin' the gays cause there is no way he was gay after that 5 minutes...
Low point was the two guys in front of me asking me constantly "what song is this?"(Young love,say you do) Or "who is that guy?" (Referring to nelly, q tip, and jermaine dupree) I mean if your not a fan, what are you doing there?!
