(no subject)
the other day, i was telling Dani that the next "girlfriend" i had wouldn't be a band. Unfortunately, I was wrong; for the next month i'm playing trombone and sometimes trumpet for the Royal Assassins, Durham's other ska band. It's so ironic because they practice right down the street from where we used to, and their original forms, the members of CiC and TRA is amost exactly the same: 2 guitarists, a bassist who's a total slacker, a fat trumpet player, a thin trumpet player, a scrawny nerd sax player, a trombonist who's big into soccer, and a mild-mannered drummer. They're such awesome guys, the royal assassins. I'm playing with 'em on thursday in Hamden, should be a good show.
I *so* want to quit work. I'm just bored out of my skull. There's almost no human interaction, i just sit there and enter forms into the computer. The only good part is sometimes i'm able to sneak onto AOL for a while. AOL Radio has an all-led zeppelin station, which is pretty sweet. Last summer at BASREP, I worked more, had more stress, and was paid less, but I'd much prefer it to my current job. and once i'm don entering all the forms we get into the computer, I have to file them all into folders. there are about 5,000 of them that i've done this month, and then i have to put them all away. but i do get a paycheck tomorrow. I hope when I grow up I don't hate my career this much.
