Or, rather, how should I celebrate my birthday a week after the fact? Once again, there's a figure skating competition the week of my birthday, and once again it's in driving distance (in fact it's in Richfield, so I'll be volunteering most of the week).
But on October 28, I'd like to celebrate with some kind of fun Autumn/Halloween excursion, or something like. A few years ago, some of us tried the Trail of Terror, but found it to be the "Three Hour Wait Followed by the Fifteen Minute Trail of Bored Ex-Ren Fest Actors," so that's definitely out.
Here are my ideas/options, so far:
"Autumn Adventures" at the Arboretum.
http://www.arboretum.umn.edu/calendar/october.htm "Halloween Scare" at Valleyfair (I've never been to Valleyfair at all, but the 33 dollar entry fee seems a bit much).
http://www.valleyfair.com/public/news/index.cfm?story_id=61&mode=story¤t_root=12 Go to the Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch/Apple Picking and maybe even the Trail Ride & campfire (this place seems to have the most options):
