Ok, first off, I just want to say that my office is now set-up, its room 404. Any students that have questions can now come by and see me, or at least see my schedule and where I will be.......
That being said, I want to talk about the conversation currently going on in the lounge. Two of my colleagues, who will remain un named, are having a conversation about open minded thought. One of the guys is trying to point out how the other is close minded and needs to look at different ways of thinking. He's not being so direct, he's actually a lot more articulate about it, but he's right. I'm just summing it up for the journal. Well, the one guy who is close minded is trying to tell the other guy that he needs to agree with his way of thinking and that the other guy is wrong because he doesn't believe what this guy believes. The bad thing is, these guys are bringing religion into it. The guy who is close minded is a Christian, and I'm a Christian, but he's making us look bad. I thought Christians were supposed to be Christ-like. Regardless of what this guy thinks or feels and regardless of wether or not it is right, he's trying to tell the other guy that he is wrong and this guy won't open his mind up to any possible way of thinking differently. That's way too aggressive of a take on it, you can't just tell someone they are wrong and then expect them to become a Christian and except Christ just because you told them they should. Open your mind. That gives a bad name to Christians. Those so-called "bible-bangers" like this guy is, just need to read that book again and figure out the example of what it means to be like Christ.
Well, just wanted to get that off of my chest, because I really don't like ignorant people who are afraid to think or be wrong, and who are pushy about what they believe. I'm in a good mood today. Once again, I'm loving life. It's raining here, but not so hard. I just love the sound of rain. Once again, I forgot to find out about my graduate assistance, I guess I'l go to the financial aid office Thursday. Purple Haze just came on the radio, and that kind of reminds me of something I need to do, so I will talk to you all later. Good Day.
