A woman came in and asked for a double-entendre: I gave her one...

John: Wow, are you referring to the notion that listening to a certain type of music somehow makes you into an independent and unique individual?! That's my favourite idiotic and meaningless notion!
Elliott: Wow, mine too! What a fashionable situation!
John: We should hang out!
Elliott: No, I'm sorry, that is a post-bohemian cliché that would undermine my individuality. Do you not find it far more urbane to simply recognise each other and pose?
John: Yes, I suppose you're right.
Elliott: Good, now let's stop this italics bullshit, we are making Jack's livejournal look like a cunt exhibition...

Congratulations to anyone who got what they wanted yesterday, and to anyone who didn't, let's move to Ukraine and start dealing smack. I have decided what I am going to do with my life, to some extent. After university I choose a good town I have never lived in (Manchester first, probably), build up funds for six months, then go travelling somewhere I have never been for 6 months (South America first, probably), then the next year I repeat with a different town and region. Towns include Dublin, Manchester, Novi Sad, Montreal, Brighton, Glasgow/Edinburgh, Berlin, Toulouse and Paris, regions include South America, Canada and the good bits of USA, Russia and the bits between Russia and Europe, Tibet, Texas and the Deep South, Mexico, more extensively around FYR than just a couple of towns in Serbia. Then when I get bored of that, probably about 27 or 28 years old, I will see who of my friends is not married with children, and will get a house together of them. If there are not enough of them I will go back to university, hopefully Cambridge, hopefully Linguistics, at the moment. After that I will decide again, possibly work for Amnesty or some shit like that (NB. shit not meant in the perjorative sense). So that's that. I am moving back to Nottingham at the end of the month, or thereabouts. Anyone who wants to come and stay can do so, there will be a bunch of space and a bunch of fun. Peace out. X

PS. Ed, my sister is legal now.
