Hi Jamison,

What's so interesting about your questions is that a very large percentage of them ask about nature or animals. You seem to be quite curious and concerned about the environment. A lot of those types of questions though can be answered if you just 'google' the questions. They're factual answers and they're right at our fingertips.

This assignment was intended to peak your curiosity and help you realize the difference between close-ended and open-ended questions. I wanted you to see that you are curious about a lot of things and that, with research, you can answer a lot of your own questions. Also, I wanted to help you identify what your real, difficult questions are...

Now, these questions are closer to real, hard questions that you could tackle in essays because they leave room for debate, for different points of view, for real, honest grappling:

Why is there war?
Why can’t people get along?

With more specifity, and a narrower angle, you could really do some interesting work.

This question was my favorite because it's so poetic and peaceful:
Why is it so quiet outside when it snows?

And, lastly, "why do women put up with men?" good question! ;)
