last night i went to see war of the worlds with josh a. and kristine concepcion- they were both sorely disappointed while i was merely satisfied with the film. of course, i knew how the story was going to conclude so i had the advantage of being able to prepare myself for the inevitable letdown- i was certainly not impressed with the film, but i really enjoyed the beginning. despite the unavoidable problems that exist in the story's conclusion, this version did allow for some unnecessary events that surrounded characters for whom josh, kristine, and i had no emotional attachment. so, i'm not trying to discourage anyone from seeing this film, but i will say that if any of you choose to view this movie, you should brace yourselves for an ending that, shall we say, has been weighed, has been measured, and has absolutely... been found wanting.
-in related news, one of the previews last night was for king kong! wow, i seriously cannot wait to see that- from the previews, i gather there is relatively no plot line and that kong, our huge ape friend, is gonna get to kill at least one t-rex, if not more!
tonight one of sara c's friends is supposed to be having a lil something up in wise, so i think i may see what they're doing...
and tomorrow i'll just be home at about nine trying to make home a little more like UR, if only for one night....
