Oh, ouch! That was some very tight, smart writing. I love the control that Jack displays and the little tells that only let the reader know how shaken he really is. I love the inevitability of Jack and Daniel's relationship - how they had planned for this, how it never crosses their minds that they should do anything other than what they are doing.

Cracking writing, Sid! Suspenseful and skilled.

Thank you so much! Part of the suspense was whether I would actually finish it in time, lol.

It was a tough prompt for me to work with, so it was a good challenge for me. I was very lucky that I got the basic idea for this story almost immediately, and got the OC down on paper the same night. After that I could just let the story percolate. Er, until it was time to panic. :-)
