How sad is it
That I'm totally buying backup lasagna/lasagne in case the one I'm making tonight doesn't turn out well?
This is the thing - people hear you're from North Jersey, and they assume that you can make and pronounce all things Italian with complete ease. Whereas I am actually used to having plenty of authentic Italian types around to make stuff for me, and being able to say, "Hey - is your mom making that thing she makes, tonight?"
Also, it's impossible to find fresh lasagne noodles anywhere in this godforsaken hinterland that is our nation's capital, and I didn't have time to buy the pasta maker and learn how to use it myself, so regular noodles will just have to do.
Bah. Backup lasagne, indeed. Though that's kind of a happy thought...
