I go home in less than 2 weeks... this is insane.
I've had a great couple of days though! Amanda came on Tuesday morning! I took her to TDR and she met my friends. We celebrated Free Cone Day (in Dupont Circle) of course... although I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't the same as Free Cone Day usually is at the Ben & Jerry's in Garden City. I used to love leaving school and going through the line 3 times. After that we got back and chilled for a little bit, then the Shumans had a nice dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Our waiter was sooo cute, he loved us. We also made two other new boyfriends that night, one on the metro and one on the AU bus. This is clearly because we are sweet babes. We went to sleep fairly early, despite my friends calling me a party pooper. Got up early too, ate at TDR, and then Amanda and I hit DC! We saw every single monument (Jefferson, FDR, Korean, Lincoln, Vietnam, and WWII), which was a lot of walking, but totally worth it, and it was a gorgeous day, 90 degrees!
We came back and then Meaghan, Lauren, the cuz and I saw TAKING BACK SUNDAY AND JIMMY EAT WORLD!!!! It was an awesome concert, this band The Format opened, and they were pretty cool. Actually Lauren just helped me to realize that I have seen them... they opened for Yellowcard/ SoCo/ LTJ at URI!!! Weird... TBS was awesome; they played mostly stuff off of Where You Want To Be, but some of the classics off of Tell All Your Friends. Now I definitely know why Brand New's thing is "because mics are for singing, not swinging" because Adam Lazarra fucking swings the mic all over the place, like literally all over, around his neck, up in the air. Weird, but they were awesome. Jimmy was also amazing! I have just gotten into them this year, but this concert has definitely cemented me as a fan. They played stuff off of Bleed American, Clarity, and Futures. When they played "23" I had tears in my eyes. Hearing that song plus my cousin being here made my week. Thursday morning Amanda had to leave early for her flight around noon. It was a great time though and I am so so so glad she came! I hope my crazy friends didn't scare her too much.
And my favorite....
REPRESENT.
In other news, my freshman year is one more day of classes from being over! I can't believe it! Two classes on Monday, an exam on Thursday, then two exams the following Tuesday. And in between all that Dane Cook, a Nationals game, Fall Out Boy/ The Academy Is..., and All-American Rejects/ Hellogoodbye. This weekend is the last that everyone will be together, so hopefully it's good times....
