Well, today was very pleasant, despite the weather being absolutely muggy and disgusting. At around 3, I embarked on a treacherous drive to New Brunswick, where I got to hang out with
itsjen33 for the first time in forever. We went to Stuff Yer Face, where I probably haven't gone since my freshman year. Stuff Yer Face, for those of you who don't know, is a place that specializes in shoving random stuff and cheese into "bolis." It is excellent and reasonably priced. I didn't drink because I wanted to be sober for a rumored house meeting that never happened, but that's okay. We had a lovely convo and then went to West End and saw Ant and
sleepyduck5 It made me sad - there we were, four of the most excellent people in existence, hanging out together for the first time in like a year. I love my future housemates, of course, but it would be so wonderful to start again (without Arthur) and all have singles. :-( Now I'm just going to have to make multiple trips to LA to see
itsjen33,
Rhyheim, and my high school friend Joe, whose screenname is something like "VoteGOP2004."
I hate driving and won't pretend I'm good at it. However, two things:
1) Please people, learn how to make left turns. I am very timid with most things, but I'm way aggressive with left turns, and I'm often made about 10 minutes late because people sit their asses at the line while waiting to make left turns at lights.
2) Why drive so fast in the rain? I know you're in a hurry, I am too. But driving is possibly the most dangerous endeavor when it's dry, and it gets 100 times worse when it's wet. Isn't it better to make the chances of dying a bit less?
Tonight I made Danielle, my little little sister, recite Brecht's "The Measures Taken" out of sheer boredom. It was splendid. She did some hot renditions of those songs.
I also filled out a survey that the Caligula people sent me about Caligula the Musical. I was honest about how much it sucked, but think I made some constructive suggestions. I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings.
Even though I think I look even scrawnier when I "lift," it makes me feel stronger, so I've reacquainted myself with Denise Austin Arms. Denise Austin is such a bitch. She keeps assuring me I'll still look feminine, which of course irritates me. And she also tells me to "smile, you'll look great," which actually makes me smile because I'm so good at following instructions, which makes me feel stupid and tired. Fuck Denise Austin.
And, of course: Yay Fantasia! Don't let the Idol songwriters ruin you! And I'm guessing Diana won't be getting as good of a contract as Clay did. She was definitely, by the way, the worse actor out of the Idol group of second-placers. She looked devastated!
