I totally forgot to post about the Clay (and Kelly) concert a little over a week ago!!! This occurred to me now, as I'm listening to Clay's new single, which I, embarrassed, purchased three of at Best Buy today (one for my mother and one for Pamela and one for me). First, this single is quality - even though Clay's mediocre performance on AI the other night made my expectations low, "Solitaire" on this CD is five and a half amazing, beautiful minutes.
So the concert...Kelly sucked. She's a good singer and everything, but she's boring. And it didn't help that she had some fantasies of being perceived as an "artist" in this show - she came out with baggy jeans and a t-shirt and a fucking guitar, which it was obvious she wasn't playing because she wasn't touching the top. So basically she just stood there, and her biggest applause came when she promised the audience that Clay would appear soon. At least she sang three songs from From Justin to Kelly which, of course, is a quality flick.
Then Clay. So hot. He was wearing tightish baby blue pants with multiple useless pockets and zippers, and he's such a wonderful performer even though the songs on his CD are mostly fucking awful. Remember how Simon told him to stop with the theatrical faces and how, for awhile, Clay "calmed down?" Well, Clay's forgotten Simon's advice, thankfully, and he does really cheesy movements that coincide with the lyrics he's singing. It's great. Unfortunately he wasn't on for nearly long enough and, for God knows what reason, he didn't sing "This is the Night." I remember on the AI tour when he emerged from the floor and sang that, and did his little faggy thing where he crouches and sticks his ass up in the air and raises one of his arms, I almost had an orgasm. He should have taken out the stupid Jesus song he sang (and probably wrote) and inserted that, instead.
But even though it wasn't the best I think it could have been, it sent my Clay crush into full force again. I just like to imagine a future with Clay on the commune, with
ilovemrdarcy, the dogs, and the kids, where Clay and I are not married but do each other a lot, have frequent threesomes with Britney, and engage in a lot of hardcore, radical activism. Because, as you know, Clay and I are absolutely politically like-minded, especially when it comes to sexual politics. It's obvious from all his interviews that we're soul mates. And, since I put my LJ url on the banner his mother sent to the tour, Clay will soon realize this.
Here are some pics, but I really suck with the digital camera...
Speaking of pop stars I am ashamed to like, thanks to
stardustfaith for the Xtina heads up today!!! Another heads up - she will be on Letterman tonight. I hope she doesn't sing Beautiful, though, because that's getting fucking old.
(just kidding about the title to my LJ!!!!!!!)
