So I was talking to my roommate Teri last night, and we realized that we'd been best friends for around 12 years.
Tim: "Teri, we've been friends longer than most marriages last.
Teri: "It's true. We should write a book on marriage counseling. We've got good communication. A shared commitment -- in paying rent. And we have a healthy sex life with other people."
So after a lot of laughing, it got me thinking. Maybe what is needed for a successful marriage is simply: good communication, separate bank accounts (and none of that "what's his is mine" bullshit), and disclosed affairs to keep things exciting.
