Did you know that: some engineers in mid-20th century Netherlands were fucking amazing?

Check out this map, and notice how there is a 970 square milekm island not in it. An island which is there now. An island you could fit 42 about 10 manhattans in.

My friend from Hong Kong is always poring over maps like this one of Hong Kong's reclamation projects over time. I believe most of the urban part of Hong Kong is on reclaimed land at this point.
