Once in a lifetime
I was saving this post until later, but a certain someone dragonbane is making me post now. I've met someone!!!
Her name is Melissa, and we met at the Sci-Fi meetup two weeks ago. Because of my work schedule, I have not been able to attend the meet-ups for quite some time, but then I started school again, and my work was adjusted to accommodate school. One of the changes was that I no longer worked on Tuesday, and therefor was able to go to the Meet-up as usual. I decided to take a look online to see who was going. While there I saw a beautiful girl just joined and would be at the meet-up. I clicked on her profile and she had many of the same interests that I did, such as body modification. I made a mental note to say "hello" to her, but in the back of my mind I knew that it would come to nothing. When I went to the meetup I saw her chatting away with some people, and I stood by, waiting for her to break away so that I could say a few words to her. The time came, and I talked with her. It turns out that some of her tattoos are based on the same sandman characters as the one that I have tattooed on my arm! WE talked a little bit about that before other people grabbed her attention and she went away. Before I could talk to her again, she got tired and left.
I kicked myself for not getting her number or anything, and swore that I'd do better next meetup. However, something inside just told me to try harder, so I joined a body modification meetup she started, and e-mailed her through meetup for her contact info. She responded with her e-mail and phone number. I called her and we made plans to meet that Friday.
