--Why do I have to do school?

You don't have to go. You go because you choose to do so.

--Do I really need a master's degree?

It's debatable

--Do I really care if I can program a pre-forked HTTP server in C?

I know I sure don't

--I was reading an article today about Christianity (I know, I need to stop reading the ultra-religious websites), and the author made an extremely lame point, and I was wondering if anyone saw any value in it. In speaking with an atheist, who said he did not believe in god because he had no proof for the existence of god. The author said that why did the burden of proof have to lie on the theists; shouldn't the atheists have to prove that there was no god? My thought is that that is extremely lame, because given that argument, you could assert anything, like that leprachauns exist, and say that it must be true because it can't be/hasn't yet been unproven. Any thoughts that could make this an even vaguely palatable argument?

I like the argument. I've never been to Antartica. There very well could be unicorns and teal elephants there. I think it is as logically valid an argument, but for practical reasons we tend to assume things don't exist until proven instead of vise versa because it would be extremely time consuming to disprove every random idea.

--Is it bad that I have a beer most nights?

for what? your liver? your (beer) belly? your morality? you think too much.

--I have this god-awful spring travel itch. I don't want to be in this country, I don't want to be in this state. Am I the only one who feels this way?

possibly. I don't feel that way. I would rather stay around here than go anywhere.

--I love Magic Hat beer. Why don't more people?

It's too sweet. Typically people don't drink beer if they want something sweet; there are usually better things for a sweet craving.

--Would it really be bad if the entire middle east "hotspot" were wiped off the planet? This is my mother's suggestion, and having no particular attachment to either side nor the religious sites, and generally thinking the world would be better without religion and religious extremism, I tend to find this a more and more appealing option.

No worse than Florida or Texas being wiped off the planet. We would move on. Don't be so deluded to think that it would solve any of the current problems, though.

--Am I the only one who is unable to be monogamous out there? Am I the only one who really doesn't want a serious, committed relationship right now? I totally understand all those jokes about people being unable to commit, but I can't understand the people who are really ready to at this age. It baffles me. As does real monogamy.

I'm sure there are others.
Monogamy is rather simple, though, and shouldn't be confusing. You identify someone that you care about and trust enough to enter into an agreement with that person wherein you define the perameters of your relationship, mostly for stability purposes. The agreement is voidable at any time, but the hope is that one would notify the other party upon intrest in terminating the agreement. This is the polite and noble thing to do, although usually more difficult, which is why people usually don't. And I usually consider it to be a good thing that I don't behave similarly to the majority of people most of the time.

--I'm hungry. What should I eat?
fruit chews
