This weekend was surprisingly good! I needed the four days. Of course, I told myself that I would be efficient and use the extra time to get caught up on homework. But then, when I actually sat down to do it, I decided that I deserved a four day break and could figure out how to do it later. So here I am at 10 on Sunday night, with so much work that SHOULD have been done that i have reassigned for myself to do later in the week. Term papers? Who needs to work/get started on those? Certainly not I....
My mom got my the OC Season 1 dvd set this week. My dad has ruled no Chanukah presents for Jessica this year, so my mom has been slipping me thing behind his back. So the OC was my early Chanukah present. I am officially obsessed. Its disgusting...I actually watched the entire first season over the course of the week. Gross. That is SO MUCH TV. I never log that much time in front of the tv...I am justifying it by classifying it in the "I cannot do homework, I must relax by any means necessary" category. And binging on The OC is a new way to relax.
So what did I actually do this weekend...Wednesday I came home and crashed on the couch. Sleeeeeeeep. Much needed. Thursday was fun though. I dropped my mom off at the airport (YES!...I LOVE being on my own!!!!)and then I went and hung out with Charlie which was fun as always. That night I went to work for a bit at the snack shack at the football game and then I went to hang out with Julia and watch The OC (disgusting...too much OC....too bad...) It was cool meeting her friend Charles and seeing Mike. Once again Jules, I way approve- even though he wore WAY TOO much cologne and ate almost all of the peppermint things :) And see, I told you that I would put you in my lj again. And we totally need to look into the Europe thing for the summer. It would be so awesome. I say that we forget a teen program and take Deb up on her offer to chaperone us! hehe...The OC obsession gets worse....As I am driving home from Julia's, I get a call from Elise. So Elise and Annie Worth ended up coming over to my house to watch what else but more episodes from the DVD set. This is like an addiction. I need an OC rehab center..
So Friday, Ellen and I got up early and went all the way through San Rafael and Marin to take the Golden Gate Bridge into SF. So what if it was illegal as my six months aren't up...have to break the law to know the law, right? So what if I'm not even allowed to drive in the city on my own? We had so much fun! IT was a beautiful day out and the drive was absolutely gorgeous. As we were driving through Sausalito and peering out at the bay and the peaks of the Golden Gate, I realized how much I love California. Yes, I know that I bitch about living in Borinda, but I do appreciate all of the opportunities that have been presented to me from living here. And California is stunning and there are so many things here that you just can't get anywhere else. I used to think that college would be it- go somewhere on the east coast and get the hell out of here. But during that drive, I realized I was kidding myself. Yes, I still want to go to college on the east coast. Yes, I want to spend a while living in New York or Boston. But I think that I will probably end up returning here to the SF area. I can totally see myself living in Marin close to the city or actually in the city. So anyways, Elle and I drove all the way around SF, just going random places. We went to get lunch at the Ferry building (soo good!) and then went to SFMOMA. It was funny- not exactly your typical day spent shopping in SF, but incrediably fun! Even the art museum seemed cool :) I got home and tried to prep for congress, but ended up decided that i didn't want to and would rather go to sleep early again. So that is what I, so irrepsonsiably, did. :)
Saturday was great. Yes, I know that I am saying this about a public speaking tournament, but I really did have a great time. Our chamber was stacked! Charlie, Danny, Brian- you guys all did so well! It was the first time this year where I truly enjoyed speaking. I had FUN up there, speaking and asking questions. I had been kind of disappointed with this year in public speaking, particularly spirit-wise, so now I'm looking forward to another tournament. Plus, there are the priceless moments that you know you will never forget: ie: Lana's comments to Charlie, Elise and I rocking out to music that no one else couuld see we were listening too...Then Elise and I had fun making pasta and hanging out. Good times.
Today was a really nothing day. Attempted to work, and then gave up. Riva, I loved chatting, as always! (Thought I would say hi since you mentioned the lj today :) )
Well, that's all for now. More to come later!
