HAPPY HALF BDAY TO ME!

Oct 30, 2004 08:53

Wow. Its my half birthday! I totally just realized that as I saw the date thing on my livejournal update page. Well. Sixteen and a half! haha.

So far the weekend has been GREAT. I am so relived that it is finally the weekend. Its kinda sad when, on friday, everyone is saying "I have ALMOST made it through the week!only three more periods to go!" but it seems like EVERYONE is feeling like that. I thought Paul Martin (the speaker at school yesterday) was really cool. Incredible story. For those of you who don't go to Mirmamonte (losers :)) Paul is this guy who was abused as a kid, started to drink, and then drink and drive, and then he got in an accident where he lost his leg. From this point, he says that his life totally turned aroound as he became an athlete. this one-legged guy has done marathons and triathalons all over the world, including at the Athens olympics. I was so impressed. But there were these really rude kids who clapped at everything. AT a few points in his speech, it was appropriate to clap. Like when he said that he made it to Athens or when he said that he was engaged. But there was this group of asshole sophomore guys who would clap at the stupidest things, and everything. Paul would say "I pulled up to the court..." and the clapping would start. it was so rude. I mean, here is this guy who has endured so much. whether or not you care, he deserves the respect of people sitting quietly. Then there were these girls sitting behind me talking nonstop. It s a respect thing.

Bio was awesome yesterday. Taylor's costume was incredible. We had two Mr. Gadde's teaching us yesterday! IT was hilarious, particularly as mr. gadde (the real one) began to feel abused and kept tryng to hide behind Rich. This was sad withinitself, as if they had stayed in that position, you wouldn't have known that Mr. Gadde was in the room- he is so small and rich is so tall- you totally could not tell that Mr. Gadde was there. Earlier in the day, I had seen Mr. Gadde in the halls and we stopped to talk. Then I saw Taylor. And then later in the day I saw Mr. Gadde in the halls and I couldn't tell whether it was Mr. GAdde or Taylor- so i just stared and said nothing, rather than saying anything I just stared. It turns out that it was Mr. Gadde and he noticed me acting oddly and had to stare me down and say hello to me in a very odd voice. oh well.

Chelsea gave me a ride home (my car was about to explode and was in the shop) and we had this really cool conversation about people who have influenced us. Thanks for the ride, Chels! FYI- does anyone else call you chels?? I ALWAYS call you that and I have never heard anyone else call you anthing but chelsea. Does it piss you off when I call you Chels? Let me know if it does....lol

So I got home and crashed on the couch and then I went out with Ana and Julia and Julia's boyfriend Mike. So Ana and I got to the AWESOMELY CHEAP INDIAN PLACE in berkeley early, and we ended up having to wait an hour for Mike and Julia. Well, I should say Julia. Mike had to drop her off and then go and park miles (literally) away so he was grumpy when he walked in. No wonder. I would have been SO BITCHY if had had to park that far away. But finally we ate and had so much fun. Julia, I totally approve :) Mike is way cool. Then Ana drove the four of us in her truck back to Julia's car so they wouldn't have to walk. Mind you, Ana's truck only has three seats and the weight was totally off (you could feel the car tipping a bit) and things kept beeping at us. From how I was sitting, my foot as essentialy on the gas pedal. Real safe. Plus Ana doesn't have her six months. oops.

So on to a day of homework, mock trial meeting, officer bracelet making (i'm praying that this is going to turn into a more social activity) and something fun tonight! More Later, Jess
