Author's Notes: Written for the first lotrpschallenge challenge. Fic needed to contain five paragraphs, one with 50 words, then 40, then 30, etc. Also, an element from a picture. Thanks to Scott for looking this over!
Dom knew that he was in trouble-worse trouble than he’d ever been in before-when he arrived back at the house and found Elijah sitting on the couch, a bag of gummi bears in his hand. Given the pattern of their previous arguments, Elijah should have been long gone.
"Elijah," Dom said, shutting the door behind him. The sound was loud in the otherwise silent room. Louder still was the crinkling of the cellophane bag of gummi bears when Elijah plucked one out. Dom watched him lick the bear.
Elijah was sitting cross-legged on the center cushion, his back straight and his shoulders tense. Otherwise, he appeared to be calm, but as Dom met his gaze, his eyes flashed.
‘Sorry for trying to make you jealous,’ Dom wanted to say. ‘Just joking.’ But Elijah didn’t give him a chance.
Growling, Elijah bit the bear’s head off and Dom shivered.
