Was trying to translate "Province" in Chinese for a friends of mine who is a chinese speaker but trying to learn English...
But instead I was confused by the following English words instead.
QN: What is the different between "State" and "Province" (other than the spelling, no of letters it contain, blah blah)

According to the dictionary:
Province
1. an administrative division or unit of a country.
2. the provinces,
a. the parts of a country outside of the capital or the largest cities.
b. (in England) all parts of the country outside of London.
3. a country, territory, district, or region.
State
1. the territory, or one of the territories, of a government.
2. (sometimes initial capital letter) any of the bodies politic which together make up a federal union, as in the United States of America.
Yeah, pretty much the same thing. Prefectures in Japan work the same way as far as I know.
