I tried to watch the pilot after picking the show up somewhere in the... third season? The fact that nothing in the pilot had any relevance to anything that I was watching left me bored. I didn't feel I had missed any mythos, story or character development.
It also made me think I hated J.J. Abrams. Until I watched Fringe and his Star Trek take. Turns out I just don't like Lost.
We've been dropping stuff left and right lately - and I've been HAPPY when a show goes away. I was content with how they wrapped up Dollhouse, I'm not unhappy they stopped My Name is Earl...
Our recorder has been missing stuff lately, and somehow, I'm not all that upset. It's kind of like BEFORE DVR, when missing episodes was normal... :)
We finally saw Star Trek a few weeks ago, and I really, really liked it. I am not a huge Star Trek fan otherwise, though. F, who is a huge TNG fan was unimpressed.
But I also love Lost. I don't care that you don't, however. To each his own.
Honestly, Lost season 3 sucked. I had nearly given up on it, but Scott and I started watching again in season 4, and got sucked back in. We own seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, but I refused to buy season 3.
