Nightmare

Donald Trump is now our president.... I know I shouldn't be shocked - that's what Michael Moore apparently is telling everyone, that it shouldn't be shocking, that us liberals have been in a "bubble" and not paying attention to how things actually are in those pesky "swing states". But it is shocking. This hasn't happened before. It's terrifying to go into what Rumsfeld called the "Unknown Unknown" - the things we don't know that we don't know (and I can't believe I just quoted that bag of shit) - and especially for anyone who isn't, you know, white and rich. Notice I said the second part. Everyone who voted for Trump who was not making over like 500 grand a year got conned in a major way. They say a sucker is born every minute but this is simply the sucker-iest move in human history. It's making me still shake and unable to sleep just picturing Trump giving like, you know, fucking STATE OF THE UNION speeches and having to see his face when I go to a DMV or government office up on a wall. From now on textbooks kids get in school will have his face there. The legacy of this terrifies me as much as his proposed policies do.

Hillary Clinton had her faults, but many people in this country, whether it was misogyny or some other misguided reason (no, let's stick with misogyny, and I even include women here because there's this sick and sad but true history of conditioning where women are told, and this is EVEN WITH all of the feminism out there, that men are the only ones who can lead and control them, that women are too "emotional" too "manipulative" too "fill in the fucking blank"), decided to go with a guy that deep down they MUST KNOW is a flaming bag of shit when it comes to his character. People didn't care it seemed - they want to "drain the swamp" of corruption when these pigfucks that are in the *GOP* are the ones who blocked anything Obama tried to do in the years he was in office. Will Trump drain THEM out? When he needs them to get his nightmarish agenda done? (Well, Pence's really, which is most horrifying).

I wish I could joke about it, but everything about this makes me feel ill and icky and just... bad about being an American. I felt ashamed many times to be an American during the Bush years, it was sickening to see that man get reelected and to do the damage he did and not see any consequences - I could trace a lot of our problems back to that, the fact that no one in his administration really got punished for the shit they pulled and that it spread out into what we're seeing now - but really, the media and internet are a LOT to blame here (and Comey, can't forget that motherfucker, but he's just the icing on the shit cake against Clinton, who WAS and IS 12819482920382930128321042932382940328382392483208329432930283920303293028382039820382039203392030382030 times more qualified to run this country than Trump. They made it their HIGHEST POINT OF ISSUE to do nothing but talk about the fucking emails. And then whenever the thing I call "IT" (like the Stephen King "It" by the way, that's how I see Trump) was brought up, people would say "well, they're picking on him too much." Uh... they simply SHOWED what he was SAYING, over and over and over again.

A friend of mine was talking to me on facebook messenger, trying to see the silver lining, that because of this the pendulum will swing the other way, that in 2018 we will see more democrats get into office, that real change will happen. I told him as I believe now, that's unlikely - midterms don't see people really come out to vote except republicans, that's just how it's been for many, many years (look back to 94 to see that). And we still have to go through the *next year*, hell, the first 100 fucking days of this living, inescapable BOB from Twin Peaks standing up on a podium and and and.....

Fuck
Fuck
Fuck.

I hate (a lot of) this country. I really do. I hate most of it in fact.

Now I got to record a podcast and I'm still shaking.
