Toviah should not be my financial planner

Today, I saw something like this at Costco. I came back to tell Toviah about it.

Toviah: wow that's dangerously shiny
Me: MONIES MONIES
Toviah: hey hey
i told you what my last purchase was right
Me: i am so compelled to throw money at the computer screen RIGHT NOW
Toviah: and how it's dangerously close to the price of a netbook
so do it
it's more cost effective
than my blinky light
Me: lol your logic is flawless!
toviah, will you please be my financial advisor?
Toviah: yes
shift eyes
shifty*
Me: for you are asian + jewish
therefore you are dangerously overqualified
Toviah: so much so that it wraps around
and makes me underqualified
Me: lol
omg.
SHOULD I
oh god
Toviah: as your financial advisor i will respond to every other question with Yes
Me: here please take my money!
Toviah: Yes
Me: oooh boy
really want.
Toviah: buy
wait, phrase it in the form of a question
Me: asd;ajwef;jasd;jf;kasjdk;jfljsd;kmoneyyyyyy
really want?
Toviah: No
now ask again
i say yes to every other question
so if you ask again, i will confirm it
Me: shall i buy?
lol
Toviah: and then you have ot buy it
YES
Me: I MUST
Toviah: ok glad thats settled
Me: adsfjka;dsjfjaafs mineeeee
Toviah: did you buy it yet
pansy
Me: LOL
I'M SCARED TOVIAH
SO SCARD
IT'SM ONEY
I NEEDSI T TO LIVE
Toviah: ECONOMIC STIMULUS

And now, GUESS WHAT I OWN. YES. THIS AGAIN. IT'S SO SHINY. AND TINY. AND NOW I DON'T HAVE TO BUY A NEW LAPTOP! YAAAAY

So THIS is how saving money to start a business looks like. Hmm.

In my defense, my current laptop is 2.5 years old and slowly leaking life. It BSOD's without warning and is cantankerous in how fast it wants to go. My eventual option was to either get a Macbook, which would've DESTROYED my bankroll, or an IBM like my sister's (also not cheap). This way, I have a decent, portable device that I can tote around and it does all of the things that I need in a laptop: word processing, spreadsheets, web browsing, email, and occasional music. 160GB in HD space and 1GB in RAM already puts it over the top of my current laptop (poor Scotty), and even though there is no DVD/CD drive, Scotty's DVD/CD drive is broken too so we're breaking even there. And if Anna is right, maybe we can write it off as a business expense??!
