So, in the aftermath of being shouted at for not wanting to kill entire countries, what else is there to do but go outside and eradicate weeds?
What are these vines that went all the way up the rose bushes in the two weeks that I didn't garden? Untangling them from the stems proved to be too slow and prickly to be effective, so I took shears and cut them at ground level so that they'll wither, die, and fall away from the roses. The main part of the plant will remain, hopefully to be trained upward on trellises, but to be cut back again if need be.
If that's not a metaphor for what's about to happen in the Middle East, then I don't know what is.
