A seventh grade student came into his lesson today with bags under his red eyes. When I asked him what was wrong, he replied: "Obama won. We're going to become communists and our country will go to hell."
His parents kept him up all Tuesday night with this indoctrination. Nice parents that kid has, huh?
I gently defused him by saying that our country isn't run by just one man but by the will of the people. (The people CHOSE Obama, but he can figure that part out later.) I also reminded him that his parents had a lot of trouble in their native Greece and they might be feeling extra sensitive, so he should be very kind and understanding.
Still. He is TWELVE ffs.
