So last night was this deeply mystical performing experience, right? Tonight's the polar opposite - 4-5 hours of big band music for someone's 93rd birthday party.
(Although it weird to think of a party for someone that old going from 8-midnight with "probable" overtime. Is someone trying to kill this guy?)
It felt wonderful not to have to work this morning. Slept in, ran errands, cleaned up the house a bit, then finally went to the All-State taping session and worked as an announcer/tape labeler for a few hours before L came to relieve me.
Now I'm trying to get dressed, but I'm already worn out just thinking about this gig. When I agreed to it, it was supposed to be from 6-9. Then two days ago I found out it's 8-midnight and probably running at LEAST an hour over if not more. YUCK. Remind me to say that I'll only do jobs that are 3 hours or less. I'm getting too old for this stuff.
Off to change clothes and go look happy. :)
