Birthday of the year dinner
Well I did promise a few more pics from the last couple of weeks, so how could I not throw a couple up here from my gorgeous hubby's birthday dinner?! Given JR's (aka jottobear) birthday is only 4 days after Christmas Day, we normally do a nice dinner with close friends.
You'll recognise a couple of the faces here as the infamous cuboz and roybear - as always good to spend time with you chaps - especially Roy as he's not in Sydney often and when he is, he has far better things to do with Dom than hang out with us!
Anyways, our good friends, Alan & Garth and Warren and Clinton also joined us for dinner - a lovely restaurant in Newtown called Linda's Backstage which serves a contemporary menu with a "modern twist". Dunno what the twist is supposed to be but it's wonderful food which normally leaves us as stuffed as turkeys on Christmas Eve!

I opted for the Steamed Asparagus with pan-fried Haloumi and lemon-infused olive oil for entree, BBQ eye fillet steak with herb butter, mash and garlic 'shrooms (banished to the side of the plate) for mains and a big burp for dessert :-) Others had (the very filling) twice-baked blue cheese souffle with pear salad, pumpkin & goat cheese ravioli with curry butter and spinach, grilled kingfish fillet with shellfish broth and saffron potatoes, to name just a few.

All in all, a rotund group of friends left the restaurant a little bit rotunder! Thanks guys...*hugs*
