Finally, because there was nothing more annoying then someones cell phone going off while I was trying to learn and get a college education. And by the way, I hate text messaging anyways because if you want to talk to me, just call, and don't waste my money or our time by texting. Enough said.

I only agree with half of this. while it's disruptive to have a phone rinigng in class during a lecture, I dont feel that texting is disruptive to anyone's education except the person taking time out of the lecture to sit in the back of the room and text message instead of paying attention to the content. By the time a person reaches the college level he or she should be able to choose weather or not to pay attention in class. Text messaging during boring lecture in class is like doodling on paper through boring lectures, no one is banning that.

Oh yes, I totally agree with you on that one, so it was well said. It's a person's choice if they want to pay attention in class or not by doodling or texting.

But with so many annoying cell phone ringers, that's where I think this comes into play with the rule, and that's where the line is drawn.
