Hindsight is always 20/20, but having 3 Doors Down headline the amphitheater...

when opening act Staind has the No. One album on the Billboard charts does prompt the question, "What Were They Thinking?"

Damn Livejournal. I had such a long entry, and it disappeared!

The 3DD/Breaking Benjamin/Staind concert was amazing, and probably one of the best shows I have seen yet. They also played with a band No Address but we missed half of their show, and the little that we saw did not leave me that impressed. Plus, it was amazing that our seats were about four rows back from the stage, and it was a great night to be at a concert because the weather held up.

Next, came Breaking Benjamin and they had a rather pleasant set and they put a lot of energy into their show. Staind played next in which their set was jut what I had expected and I could not wait for 3DD to play. But if I remember correctly, Staind played the following songs and lasted about 70 minutes For You, Crawl, So Far Away, Right Here, Fade, Epiphany, Falling, Yesterday, Outside, Paper Jesus, Layne, It’s Been Awhile, Mudshovel.

Finally, 3DD had an amazing stage setup including multiple colors, fireworks, three ramps, three huge projection screens, and rotating gears, including one under the drummer's kit. I can see why they are considered to be an exceptional live band, standing among the top concert draws in North America as they perform over 300 sold-out shows a year.

I already went to the show expecting an unforgettable night. 3DD entered the stage with a confidence that would surely guarantee the rest of the audience the same experience. They started out with "Right Where I Belong," and immediately noticed that they seemed a lot better and louder than the last time I saw them with Nickelback in which 3DD stole the show.

They opened with "Right Where I Belong" and continued to impress me more and more with each song.

During set changes, they played a video encompassing the damage done by Katrina since the band members were born, raised and have lived in Southern Mississippi, in which they fear they may have lost their childhood homes, friends and some family. In the background, "Here By Me" was playing, and I can understand why they chose this song due to it's powerful lyrics. Watch it here: (http://www.3doorsdown.com/). I don't know how sad they could have been because the band described this as, "Darks ashes washing away memories" in which I am lead to believe that they have some painful memories in the South.

"When I'm Gone" was memorable, since they shot the video on an aircraft carrier, and during the song, they showed more footage from the military on the screens behind them, and at the end, the center screen displayed an American flag. I am sure this touched home to many people at the show with friends and family in the military. Encores "Here Without You" and "When I'm Gone" finished the night off, and I thought to myself, what a great way to end the summer.

Three Doors Down Set List: Right Where I Belong, Better Life, Kryptonite, It’s Not Me, Away From the Sun, Duck and Run, Be Like That, The Real Life, Let Me Go, Landing in London, Behind Those Eyes, Changes, Loser. 80 minutes.
