day two of cold turkey. harrumph. it's so difficult to remember why you quit. of course you know that you have to because you don't want cancer, but that's a 20-to-50 years from now issue, so it really is difficult to hold onto the idea of it. gary becker says that i have "addictive capital," that i add to it every day that i smoke and that i lose some of it every day that i don't. it does make it a little easier not to smoke knowing that not smoking is making further not smoking easier. it's always easier to get through something if you know that the worst is coming up front.
