FOO FIGHTERS. That was a really amazing concert...up there with Coldplay definitely.
Eric and I spent most of the afternoon walking around queen and yonge.
We were a little late so we missed The Constantines opening which woulda been cool to see cuz I hear good things about them. After that Sloan played. They were really good but it's funny because they're getting quite old (grey hairs visible) and all their fans were trashed and dancing in the isle yelling "SLOOOOAAAAAAAAN". Eric and I got to sit in thomas and irina's seats because they snuck into the moshpit. that was cool cuz we had lawn tickets.
Approximate set list:
In your honour, best of you, DOA, the last song, end over end, cold day in the sun, monkey wrench, my hero, up in arms, everlong, stacked actors, breakout, learn to fly, all my life, times like these, tired of you, one more song that I didn't know(from the first album I think)
dave played 'tired of you' and 'everlong' solo which was sort of good...except for everlong because that song is so much better with the whole band. we kept waiting and they didn't come in.
for the encore, they started off with "cold day in the sun" which taylor sings and plays guitar on, and so dave played drums. then they played end over end and when we all thought it was actually over they did a really long version of monkey wrench. dave did a fairly long blues guitar solo in the middle which was really random but sounded great and then he and chris did simultaneous two hand tapping which was also cool(ignore my guitar nerdiness :D)and then they finished the song. and I want them to come back so I can see them again and know all the lyrics this time.
