So this Valentine's Day I'd have to say is the best thus far!!
So we had a snow storm in Ithaca. Yes a snow storm. Kinda crazy! But it ended up being worth it because we had a snow day. This does NOT happen at Cornell. BUT they decided to cancel classes for the rest of the day. So Rachel, Rachel, Christopher and I went to the slope and went SLEDDING! Oh my gosh it was so much fun. Although I'll admit it was a little cold and somewhat windy, but still a great experience. The slope is SO STEEP!! I had snow all over me! My eye-lashes had ice on them lol NO JOKE.
Later Rachel and I hung out in my dorm and I played some songs and she sang and when I could I'd harmonize (playing and singing/harmonizing so difficult!!). That was a lot of fun. Then it was time for us to go to dinner. So we're supposed to be meeting at RPCC but for some reason Chris insisted that we go down to Risley. No sense. So we're running really late so we tell Ashley that they should go up to the dining hall without us and we'll meet them up there, BUT Thomas is like NO we'll go with you...Okay down the hill to Risley? Things are just NOT making sense. We knew the boys were up to something. To be honest I was expecting them to have all made little cheesy cards and hand them to us and then eat in a different dining hall. SO we get to Risley, and Christopher is dressed up really nice. And Rachel and I are like what? Then everyone else shows up and they lead us to the Risley dining hall (for those of you who don't know Risley is a really small but cozy dining hall, it's kinda got a harry potter thing going on). So we walk in, I'm expecting the usual 50 or so kids in there loud kinda noisy dining hall. BUT NO...it's candle lit and there's music. The music was coming from Luke! Yes! Luke was playing live music for us and they had a red carpet lined up for us to our candle lit table with menus that they made themselves!! SO AMAZING!!!
They served us dinner and then ate with us for a little while. THEN they presented each of us with a rose and said something special about us! I honestly wanted to cry...I was so touched. To me that's what Valentine's Day is about. It doesn't have to be romantic love....I mean if you have it great. But it's also about the loving relationships that we have. The guys knew that would mean the world to us so out of their love for us they did it. SO AMAZING!!
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples if you love."
I feel like Christ's love was shown to me all day long! I hope that it was shown through me as well! But basically all that to say I had a wonderful Valentine's Day :)
