Mid-Summer Recap

Aug 08, 2007 00:55

I realize it's been a while since I've updated, so I'll give a short summary of my summer in a nutshell.

I lounged around for two weeks after classes ended.

On May 21st I started both summer school and my internship.

Summer school is over.  The internship is not.

I have learned a lot at my internship, but I'm ready to move on.

I've been getting drunk.  A lot.  Sometimes I feel like I'm borderline alcoholic.

That is a joke, but only slightly.

I've been spying for Loyola, and by spying I mean I've been going on tours of other colleges and collecting information.

I've started to read again: Man Without a Country, Slaughterhouse Five, The Little Prince, The Alchemist, Then We Came to the End.

I want to read a lot more, including all the books I was supposed to read but didn't really read (or understand) for Honors.

I got a tattoo.  You have to see it to believe it (ha!)

I ran 7 miles. Twice.

I feel like this is a summer of growth for me.  I'm testing the waters and seeing who I am and who I will be.  I'm starting to realize that the future isn't so far away, that life isn't so long, that decisions will have to be made.  Sometimes I don't want to grow up, but I need to accept life, make the most of it, and not be afraid to create the life I want to lead.
