milo's napping so this is as good a time as any to do an update. poor little pumpkin's got a bug and has puked and pooped his way through the morning, thus cancelling our fun playdate plans with
secretradio and
hazelbroom. drat!
but we had a busy weekend. saturday, paula and milo and i took the ferry over to sausalito where mac met us for lunch. milo loved being on a boat, so we'll definitely have to do that again sometime soon. and then we took paula on a driving tour of marin, ending up in the headlands out at point bonita where we hiked out to the light house. when we got home, i went for a run for the first time in, oh, 10 months. made it maybe 1.5 miles, but that's not bad considering it's been so long. i hurt now though.
sunday, i drove over and picked up paula, and we had lunch and then all biked out to
stern grove to see lucinda williams and john doe. what an amazing place! it was the most wonderful concert setting i've ever seen. and the acoustics! it sounded great no matter where you were, even outside the concert meadow, over by the vendor tents and bathrooms. i couldn't believe how many people were there. we got there right at 2 and found a space in the woods, near some other couples with toddlers who milo befriended. i wish i could've been better at befriending the parents 'cos they seemed really cool, but oh well. maybe we'll see them at another show there. plus i'm hesistant to put too much effort into making new friends here since we're moving in 4-1/2 months. 4-1/2 months?! is that possible? wow, yeah i guess it is.
as for milo updates, he's talking SO much. really mimicking everything we say more and more. has started saying "yeah" a lot instead of *just* no which is fabulous. he got a tricycle for his birthday and really loves scooting around on that. his little legs are just a smidgeon too short to reach the pedals all the way around, but he's getting there. he's still obsessed with trucks, especially fire trucks. today we walked by the fire station on the way to the grocery and stopped to look at the truck outside, and the firepeople were so nice! they let him climb up in the driver's seat, and "steer" and sounded the siren once for a second for him. he was acting all shy but i could tell he was so happy! he said "thanks" and "bye bye" to all of them and gave the driver a high five. so despite not feeling good, we've had a nice morning.
only 2 more weeks of work left. the countdown is on!
