So I hit up walmart (of course) at 3am this morning. I go early to avoid bumping into people I have either arrested or had to deal with in the prison. Anyway, I hit up walmart to buy some small stickies for my 2004 Photographers Market book and pens for work. And came out with $100 worth of stuff. Just your typical tupperware, food and that...but I also ended up getting:
*Some kind of weird Old Spice Body Wash (never tried it before, I smell good lol). I was walkin' by it and out of curiousity I decided to see what it smelled like. Well there was this really cute college chick afew feet away browsing some of that female hair smelly stuff..So I popped the top and stuck my nose towards it, couldn't smell it very well, so I squeezed, and ended up inhaling enough goop to still be smelling it 3 hours later, I know she saw it lol
*I bought some compact florescent light bulbs. I had been reading up on it recently and figured what the hell I might as well give it a shot if it cuts down on electricity, although $10 for 3 bulbs (to replace the ones in my livingroom fan) seemed pretty steep. I like them though, been on for an hour and I can still touch the bulb and it's warm to the touch. The problems I had with my 100w bulbs in here was that they would heat up the livingroom at night to some unbearable temp that required me to crank the AC or the fan on to cut down on the heat. The light is kinda weird for being florescent. The old bulbs cast a yellow light, these cast some wicked bright white lights
*I bought a 5pack of CDRW's to start backing up my system here with all my email, and another CD for all my photographs in case something happens to my computer
*Bought a watch for $5. Working in that damn prison I tend to go through a watch every few months so I end up getting cheep watches. Usually during fights or scruffs with inmates I end up either breaking the band, shattering the face of the watch or having it ripped off and stepped on during a struggle. So I just get cheep watches.
Well, that's pretty much all, hope the lights save alittle on my electricity bill. I pay about $60/mo right now for electricity, which doesn't sound like much but with a 2 bedroom house of which Im only in the livingroom (all the time), kitchen (rarely), guest bathroom, and computer room (rarely). Being a single guy and paying that much for electricity is pretty steep for me. But I guess it's all the computer equiptment and servers running 24x7, the 55gal and 20gal fish aquarium filters/lights running all the time and the TV/Surroundsound system being cranked up.
