This Old House...is gonna be the death of me...

Well, good news!

We finally have an air cooler that works! It works marvelously!

Bad news is...

We have no power in certain parts of the house as a result. ^_^

*eyetwitch*

One of them parts being my bedroom where I have my computer...

*rubbing temple*
But at least the air cooler continues to work well )

Man, it's so cute how you question everything I say. XD

To be honest, I am not even sure how to verify it. I guess I could dig out out the inspector's letters my dad got for his junk and try to call them to ask. Since they're the same guys that kicked my friend out of her home. She had no power since January, something to do with a huge electric bill that her son's grandmother (the owner of the house) refused to pay (since she had lived there at that time before going back to Hawaii). My friend's from Hawaii, she's used to not living with electricity and was okay with using candles at night. O_o;

Anyways, so for several months her home didn't have electricity cuz it was cut off by Nevada Power. Then in April, the inspectors came and told her she could not live in that house cuz according to Nevada(?) law, it is illegal to live in a residence that has no electrical power. So, my friend's home was closed off by the inspectors and she had to live in her car for a few weeks, while her teenage son lived at his girlfriend's place.
Granted, she was able to get some legal help that at least allowed her to get back into her home to retrieve her clothes, because the inspectors (and the cops) wouldn't let her even get that the first day.

On top of that, later on, her house continued to be closed off for longer time because the inspectors who checked her house found mold or whatever, so now she really can't get back in, even if she does pay her electrical bill off and puts the power back on.

Fortunately, last I checked she got herself an apartment, but her mother-in-law and the house is still in limbo...Oo;

*hangs head* That's not what I meant to do, I was just wondering since it's something I've never heard and it didn't sound right...

I've known several people with their power cut off and the only one who was told to leave was a renter who wasn't paying any of her bills.
