I gotta start looking for another job. The assistant manager is getting on my nerves. And new manager already got on my nerves and that's just from listening to her talk to the assistant manager. ugh...
Today's our manager's last day. I hope Mom gets that salsa ready by the time Kush picks me up today...We're having a goodbye party of sorts. Damnit, I knew it was bad news when the manager said she was leaving. *facepalm*
Oh, right, hey, is today's father's day? I thought it was last weekend? As usual dad's being an ass, bemoaning how out of all his three marraiges, the children from the last are the worst ever. That would be Jes and me btw. Uh huh. *Rolls eyes* Lately that seems to be his mantra. Sorry dad if I don't kiss your ass and don't keep my mouth shut when you're screwing something up. I'm not even being blunt or sarcastic with him. Good lord, he should hear me when I'm being like that. Then he'd know what a real bitch is. No, he just wants me to stop revealing the truth. In his words, "I may be the worst person in the world, but you still need to respect me." So respect is letting him screw us over and kissing his ass? Uh, no that's not respect, kay. And I Hope I don't ever reach a state where I think that's what respect is. ugh...
*sighs* anyways, I'm looking for another job, so far I think I'll apply at harrah's employment website. I find that working at the mellow slow paced older casinos such as Ballys are more my thing than working at fast paced casinos like New York, New York. Speaking of which, that's where the new manager's from, reason why she wants to change tons of stuff. She's thinking Ballys is like New York, New York and we need more rigid rules. *rolls eyes* Won't she be disappointed when she finds out that it's not like that. We're so laid back and relaxed, BECAUSE we can be that way.
We don't get crazy rushes every hour like at NY,NY casino. And our customers tend to be the middle aged or mellow kind. NY,NY sees tons younger and more crazy crowds. I know about it, I worked there. 9_9 It was exciting to work there over the winter, but it's not something I want to do all the time. (Remember when I got those obnoxious customers? shyeah, I'm avoiding that shit, 'kay? thanks, bye.)
But it seems, Bally's isn't taking anyone for retail. Bummer, but there is some work available at Ceasar Palace. Hm, that place is bit more fast paced than Ballys, but the shops that are hiring are small shops like Celine Dion's gift shop and such. Ya know, the kind that cater to a specific client, so I won't be getting crazy rushes either...(well except after the Celine Dion shows... but I can deal with that...)

What a shame, I really did enjoy working at my shop in Ballys. I liked our merchandise, I liked the customers, I liked Ballys, I liked my coworkers (well some of them), I liked working alongside Kush, and I liked our manager. Now that's all ending. Just cuz our company (and probably cuz of some coworkers) are being stupid. We had a good thing there, and now it's gotten to be so bad, people are leaving. Since May, it's been a year since I worked there. I had planned to just work in the summer, but I liked it, that I figured I'd work another season, than another and so I decided to work there for a year. Now a year is past and I wouldn't have minded working there still. But yeah, I know a bad thing when I see it and the assistant manager has shown her true colors and they're an eyesore. So forget that!
Yesterday she was getting on my nerves like you won't believe. ugh, on top of that, I didn't get home till one o'clock last night. I got out of the shop at 11:30. If I had gotten out 15 mins earlier, I would've made it to Sahara bus stop on time and gotten home before midnight. BUT NOOO, Stupid bitch had to open the doors after I closed them and let more customers in. WHAT THE HELL? Is it my fault stupid customers dont' do their shopping on time. No, it's not. We're closed, sheesh!
Yeah, Sam, I'm glad you can finish up here and drive home, but I DON'T HAVE THAT LUXURY. So glad your priorities lie with the sales, instead of your employees. I have to take the monorail and then the bus to get home. If I time it right, I can get home in half an hour. Maybe 45 minutes. However, since the day before, the bus schedule has changed and they're coming by even less.
So I missed my bus, and instead of getting on another one in twenty minutes, I didn't get on one till an hour later...
Oh, did I mention that JUST as I arrived at the monorail station last night, the monorail stopped working?
Right, so I get there as one arrives, and they announce that due to problems in the system, the monorail is delayed. (meaning none are moving) ugh...Turns out the northbound monorail I was going to take had problems closing a door. 9_9 So after they figured that the door was never going to close, they moved everyone out of that one car to the others and finally moved the darn thing. So I didn't get to Sahara bus stop till midnight. I knew I was going to have to wait 45 minutes now for the next bus. T_T
Except it was late and didn't come till one o'clock in the morning. ._.
Yeah, screw this shit. I'm finding another job if this is going to become an every workday occurance.
Granted, I'm getting my license this summer, but geez, I don't want to deal with such inconsidrate bitches at work! I had told her the problems I was having with the buses, did it not occur to her, that I would be having them last night? hello? I just told you an hour ago! I need to leave early! Not to mention, I have caught her badmouthing a coworker twice. Really, how two-faced can you get?! You're an assistant manager! You're supposed to be above that! I have never had one that lowered herself to gossip like that. Wow, I know you're just 19 yrs old, but really! that's just unsightly!
Ugh, whatever, fuck her. What irritates me is that she's criticizing our manager's ways of dealing with us. gah, unreal. I can't believe how fake she was this whole time. Our stores are doing great, unlike at other casinos! We're meeting our goals and sometimes going beyond them, so wtf? Stupid company for getting greedy. They're hoping we can make even more money by putting more rigid rules. Suure, go ahead. But you're going to alienate the employees and make the workplace a really ugly place. Good luck, suceeding that way! Get ready for the flurry of resignation letters you bitches. You've just ruined a good thing.
Well, I figure that working for the casino (instead of an independant gift shop company) is going to be as rigid as what the new manager is hoping for, but at least I'll be paid 50 cents more. X3 Which does add up after a while. :) Especially if I work full time this summer. ^^ Our store did need me to work more hours, but I've been terribly busy with dad and other things so I haven't been able to work. But after AX, I'm home free! I can work as much as I like, The only thing that will prevent me from working tons is my fencing class in the morning three days a week. But that's okay. I can work nightshift. (and I'll have my driver's license, so it all works out. ^^)
In the meantime, I'm going to have to deal with these jerks at least until after AX. As soon as I find work, I'm handing in my resignation letter. Good luck to them. XP
