most of the time, the problems we face in life are of our own creation. we jump to a conclusion in our minds, and it prejudices every action and choice until we end up right where we thought we'd be. then we all cry "oh poor me! look how fucked up this is!", but we're the dumb bastard who lined up the dominos. someone was always going to knock them over. nothing lasts forever.
we have the choice to react calmly, chuck a hissy fit, or try to juggle both reactions at once. it's not easy to maintain a calm exterior when your mind is yelling at you - driving you towards a behaviour that's negative and only serves to destroy you. but you just gotta man up. if my sister has taught me anything, it's how to man the fuck up.
don't fall into that same old trap. don't question whether the glass you know is half full might be half empty. it's a slippery slope all the way down to cynicville - population: most people. don't be pseudo-intellectual, don't indulge in sarcastic commentary, don't be a weak fuck. if you've got something to say, say it, and if you've got something to do, man the fuck up and do it.
don't psych yourself out again Jem. you of all people should know: the goddess never closes a door without opening a window.
