So. I just went and got my hair botched. She did the following things that I specifically asked her NOT to do:
1. Cut the back super short. (In addition to saying not to do that, I said I wanted it long enough to curl.)
2. Cut the front to chin length. (In addition to saying not to do that, I specifically said it looks like shit on me when it's that length.) (It looks like shit.)
Those two things alone mean that, basically, it looks like absolute shit. It's pretty much the worst possible cut I could have.
It could be cute if I chopped off the front A-line bit so at least it's not coming in at my jaw and making me look like pumpkin head, but here's the rub: I've been growing it out. I wanted it to be a little longer than chin length, about shoulder-length (which I also told her, repeatedly). If I cut it shorter to make it look nice, it's going to have to grow BACK through this phase again. Though... I don't recall it looking this bad the last time I was growing it out and it was essentially a short shag-cut.
I don't know if I should go have it fixed, knowing it means that I'll have to let it grow back through this spot (and possibly be an awkward look when we go on the cruise in Feb), or if I get it fixed it's possible for it to grow back out looking a lot nicer. It would require, I suspect, taking off another inch to make it look nice now, which means in Feb it'll be a little less than an inch longer than it is now, if I just let it grow.
If I just let it grow from here, it'll take about 6 weeks for it to start looking decent again. Maybe a little more. It should be decent enough with styling to look okay by the cruise.
I'm not good enough at visualizing hair to know what would work. I am, however, extremely, extremely distressed.
