Occasionally, at work I browse Facebook (things get slow and I get bored). Today, while browsing, I came across an interesting Facebook group, entitled: "Stop Hillary Clinton: (One Million Strong AGAINST Hillary)". It wasn't interesting because I hate Hillary Clinton (I don't have strong opinions on her yet), nor because of shock value, not even because of the inaccuracy of the name (they have far from one million). I thought it was interesting because it introduced to me the concept of introducing spite into voting. They don't support a candidate. They don't support an idea. They don't say anything that they hate about her, just that they hate her and I think our electoral system doesn't accurately represent this well enough. So many people are undecided and the voter turn out is low. What if we changed our system to include a 'nega-vote.' Instead of voting for who you want, you mark all the candidates you don't want! It puts a more spiteful spin on the whole process. I also think that we'd be able to increase voter confusion to all time highs.
