Thank you for posting so early-writing before work! I ride my green Schwinn the 3 miles to the pool, park it in the bike rack, and head to the locker room for the briefest of showers. "Hi everyone," I join my friends on the cement, spread out my rainbow striped towel, sit down, apply baby oil to my skin and lemon scented sun in to my hair. "Can I use some of that?" asks Mary. I pass it to her then lie down in the hot sun for an hour. "Let's swim," and we all get up and walk toward the deep end. We line up at the low dive. I walk a few steps on the board, then cartwheel into the pool. I swim up through the cool water, hold onto the side, and watch my friends perform their own stunts: cannonball, flip, back flip, and dive. We swim and dive and swim, then climb out. I grab my towel and some money and walk to the snack bar. I buy a hot pretzel and line it with yellow mustard, a lemonade, and a bar of salt water taffy. "Oh, I'm getting one of those," says Cindy. I take my food back to the cement and devour every delicious bite, then I deal out the cards, and the gin rummy game begins.
