Not whats its cracked up to be
Well this month and into next I am traveling for work. I don't get out of the office too much so I was/am really excited about getting on the road. But as many people who do this on a regular basis will tell you its not all that!!
This week I am in Shelton, CT, near New Haven. Its still kind of cold and a little brown but you can tell this is a beautiful area of the country.
My travel day started on Sunday morning. I was running a little late, thats another story, lol, but I still made it to the airport in time to make my flight, or so I thought. The airport was a ZOO, Spring Break sucks. I was flying AirTran and the line was around the corner and down the block. By the time I got my bag checked and went through the Disneyish maze of security I missed my flight. They put me on stand by for the next flight but I was not going to make my connecting flight in Philadelphia, UGH!!! So i made sure there was another flight that would get me into New Haven once I got to Philly and settled in to see if i would make it. Well i didn't, that flight was over sold and then they announced that all the other flight were also full so there was no way I was going to make it on AirTran. After I pitched a small fit, its just not my thing, I went to Delta and got a direct flight to Hartford, CT for a mere $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I went back to AirTran to get them to send my bag to Delta but guess what, they had sent it on the standby flight so I couldn't make it but my bag did!
So I got in touch with AirTran baggage in Philly and they agreed to send it to New Haven that night. Which worked because I had to pick up a co worker.
So after a hour drive from Hartford to New Haven I waited on my co worker who, SURPRISE, was delayed. So he finally arrives and guess what, none of the lug belonged to anyone that was on the flight. DOH!
OK, so long story short, after TWO days of phone calls and harassment I finally got my bag today, they delivered it at 1:00am to my hotel. Unfortunately no one at the hotel thought it would be a good idea to let me know.
Its be a comedy or errors but i guess all is good in the world cause I have my stuff, YAY, clean underwear!!!!!
I am looking forward to the rest of my week and I have learned some lessons along the way.
