This week was a very enjoyable one to say the least. My dad finally came home from India on Tuesday after being forced to stay overnight in Amsterdam after his flight was canceled. The thought of my dad being stuck in the Netherlands was very amusing, but I don't think he minded too much because he stayed in a nice hotel. Maybe that took away some of the jetlag because he went back to work the next morning. Wednesday, due to building problems, school was cancelled. Let me tell you: 8.5 hours of sleep is a wonderful experience. Also, that night I went to see Lost in Tranlation with Nickie. The quality time with Nickie was great and the film was good as well. Bill Murray did well in his role. It was honest dip into the Japanese culture. Funny without being derrogatory. On Thursday the senior mock election results came in and the class concensus is that I am: "most likely to run to the lunch line." In eighth grade I remember a similar election and I was both "most likely to succeed" and "most athletic (female)." I don't think I was as proud then as I am now. I feel slightly pressured as I continue to live up to this new title, but I don't think it will be much of a problem. Afterschool on Friday I went to AA to see Jerin pick up from him some very overdue books. I hadn't seen him in a while it seemed and it was good catching up with him for a bit. On impulse I decided to check out South Quad, my possible living area this fall at U of M. I was lucky enough to find a legal parking spot, but as soon as I got of the car I realized that I've never used a parking meter. So I stared stupidly at it for a bit until a courteous first year student cleared up my ignorance on the matter. While seeking the restroom I ran into an friend who was there for this South Asian awareness conference. I regret not attending the conference, especially since it was so near home, but it was good to go with my Pentacostal friend to the weekend RCIA meeting. He's convinced that going by himself would result in the Catholics ganging up on him. Dinner with Christina and Joby was another good thing. I also wouldn't have been able to see my semester grades when the day they arrived in the mail. I was grateful to find out that my inability to match question to number on the scantron answer sheet didn't affect my chemistry grade much. Second semester has been slow thus far, but things will definitely pick up this coming week when my AP online classes start. That should be interesting. I was originally supposed to take Pyschology and Macroeconomics but since I was the only one to take Macroeconomics at school they put me in Micro. What if I had a particular passion for Macro? That librarian who changed my schedule is lucky I don't. Anyway, I'm enjoying where I'm at and looking forward to the months ahead. Each time I go to AA I love it even more and 99.5% sure I'll be there in the fall. Time to focus on the week ahead...
