Llyodminster to Vegreville

Jun 15, 2007 23:22

I slept poorly, woken several times in the night by idling diseal pickups beside my tent. I woke up early, had a good breakfast and set out in a small headwind. The road was not busy (for a four lane road at least) and had a full lane of shoulder. It was also very boring, so the only thing to do was pedal.

At one of my rest stops, I got a good taste of Alberta mud. Down a side road, or as they are called here, range road, I picked up very sticky mud between my front wheel and fender. I spent the rest of the morning picking mud out of the fender.

There was a little bit of rain around lunch time. But, after lunch, it turned into a beautiful cycling day so I kept chugging along.

There were very few opportunities for stopping along the way, so I kept going until Vegreville.

At supper I discovered my multitool was missing, so instead of opening a can of chili, I drove into town and ate at the local Italitan plus steak restuarant.
