(no subject)
I just got my new Dell laptop... It's really nice :) But, it has Windows Vista on it, which I don't want... I want Windows XP on it... I've been trying to read about doing this, but it seems like I will run into troubles with the setup needing SATA drivers among other stuff..
The only thing I can think of in my head that would work is to get one of those Linux builds that runs off the CD (Ubuntu or Knoppix ?), then format the hard drive (maybe even in that process upgrade to a much larger one), and thennnnn try installing XP, but I'm afraid of running into that driver problem or it not booting up because of Vista's weird boot file.
